Easter 2017 Music: Singers, Ringers & Brass

Easter 2017 Music: Singers, Ringers & Brass

By Sonja Noykos
Co-music director

Hello, friends at Bethlehem! With Easter on April 16, we are looking forward to some special music in our worship service as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Bethlehem Singers and Bethlehem Ringers will perform, and we’ll have our additional brass players again. In addition, we’ll have extra singers from the congregation joining our choir for the postlude on Easter — the famous Hallelujah Chorus.

It’s not too late to join us! Although the choir will be singing an easier, modified arrangement for soprano, alto, and baritone, we still would love some extra voices to join us for Easter! There will be two, short, extra rehearsals for this piece on Sunday mornings before church: April 2 from 10 to 10:20 a.m. and on April 9 (Palm Sunday) from 9:45-10:05 a.m. We will rehearse in the sanctuary. You are welcome to join us Wednesdays at choir rehearsals during Lent from 6:30 to 7 p.m. (and 7:30-7:45) as well, but it’s not necessary for joining in with the Hallelujah Chorus. We will also be meeting at 9:45 on Easter Sunday for one final run-through! If you’d like to join us, we’d need you to attend at least one of our extra Sunday rehearsals. We hope you can sing with us this Easter!
